Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Mechanics - Level 2 Technician for our client. This job is responsible for performing advanced mechanical, electrical, and equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment. This role builds upon Level I responsibilities and requires experience with welding, fabrication, electrical troubleshooting, pumps, compressors, hydraulics, and industrial equipment repairs to support safe and efficient production operations.
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Mechanics - Level 2 Technician for our client. This job is responsible for performing advanced mechanical, electrical, and equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment. This role builds upon Level I responsibilities and requires experience with welding, fabrication, electrical troubleshooting, pumps, compressors, hydraulics, and industrial equipment repairs to support safe and efficient production operations.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Level I Mechanic.
- Perform basic welding and fabrication using Stick, MIG, TIG, and soldering techniques.
- Fabricate and repair stainless steel components using cutting, grinding, and welding equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair 480V 3-phase electrical systems.
- Use analog and digital meters to diagnose electrical issues.
- Diagnose failed motors and replace/install 3-phase, 9-wire motors, including shaft and coupling alignment.
- Troubleshoot basic 110V AC control circuits, including start/stop circuits, emergency stops, and limit switches.
- Diagnose and replace single-phase and three-phase fuses safely.
- Replace mechanical seals and bearings on centrifugal pumps.
- Perform maintenance on air compressors, compressed air systems, vacuum pumps, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace gear drives and gear motor assemblies.
- Perform preventative maintenance and other duties as assigned.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous industrial maintenance experience with completion of Level I skills required.
- Experience with Stick, MIG, TIG welding, fabrication, and basic machining.
- Knowledge of 480V 3-phase electrical systems and 110V AC control circuits.
- Experience troubleshooting motors, pumps, compressors, hydraulics, and gear drives.
- Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment, shop tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
- Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
- Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Communication skills.
