Job Summary

The Director of Nursing (DON) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective healthcare services at Rosemead Healthcare Center, a 24-hour rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located in El Monte, California. As a key member of our leadership team, the DON will be responsible for the overall operations, integration, coordination, and direction of nursing and patient care services within the facility. Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative leadership to the Nursing Department, including budget planning, staffing, and performance evaluations

  • Oversees the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Fosters a culture of safety and quality improvement, promoting a patient-centered approach to care

  • Collaborates with the medical staff and other departments to provide timely and effective care to patients

  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of clinical documentation and reporting requirements

  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and conducts regular rounds to observe patient care and ensure compliance with policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college or university with a current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing

  • A minimum of five years full-time or equivalent clinical experience with at least two years' experience in nursing supervision in the long-term care setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to teach and mentor staff

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language

  • Knowledge of computer use and basic computer skills

  • Ability to create a patient-centered environment and promote a culture of safety and quality improvement
