Part Time Teacher

We are a small childcare facility that is able to provide big center opportunities in a home like environment. We are looking to add a Part-Time Teacher to our team! The hours would be Monday through Friday 2:30 until 5:45. With the ability for more hours during non-school days for LPS. Our center participates in Rooted In Relationships to help promote the development of healthy social skills as well as Step Up to Quality.

Must pass Background Checks as required by the State of NE

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Follow the program schedule
• Help children complete homework
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to engage the children.
• Observe each child to help them improve their social skills and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
• Communicate with parents regularly
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
• Maintain a safe environment for the children

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as a mediator between children
• Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
• A balance between a creative mind and a practical understanding.

Preferred:

• Safe Kids Nebraska Child Care Transportation Training (or willing to obtain)
• A minimum of 1500 clock hours in a group childcare setting
• Certification in child CPR/First aid or willingness to obtain
