Position Summary

The Bartender Supervisor/Food & Beverage Supervisor assists in the daily supervision of restaurant, bar, banquet, and room service operations. This position supports the Food & Beverage Manager by ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining brand standards, supervising team members during assigned shifts, and promoting operational efficiency. The Bartender Supervisor/Food & Beverage Supervisor provides leadership on the floor, coaches team members, resolves guest concerns, and helps ensure consistent service quality while supporting the hotel's Anchors for Success.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest Service & Experience
  • Deliver exceptional guest service and ensure consistent service standards during assigned shifts.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the Food & Beverage Manager when appropriate.
  • Support service recovery efforts to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Assist team members during busy service periods.
  • Monitor dining areas to maintain cleanliness, organization, and service quality.
Shift Leadership & Operations
  • Supervise daily restaurant, bar, banquet, and room service operations during assigned shifts.
  • Direct and support servers, bartenders, hosts, and other front-of-house team members.
  • Ensure proper execution of banquet events and BEOs.
  • Monitor service flow and staffing needs throughout the shift.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and shift change procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, and departmental procedures.
  • Communicate operational issues and guest feedback to the Food & Beverage Manager.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Complete shift reports and required documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining menus, signage, and operational materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs.
  • Support department meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records as assigned.
Training & Team Development
  • Assist with training and onboarding new team members.
  • Provide coaching and feedback during daily operations.
  • Reinforce service standards and Anchors for Success.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Assist the Food & Beverage Manager with performance coaching and corrective action documentation as needed.
Financial Responsibilities
  • Help minimize waste and control operating costs.
  • Monitor proper portioning and beverage controls.
  • Follow cash handling procedures and report discrepancies.
  • Support labor efficiency by maintaining productive staffing during assigned shifts.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and liquor regulations.
  • Monitor cleanliness and safety throughout food and beverage areas.
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to hotel policies and IHG brand standards.
Education & Experience

Required

  • Previous food and beverage supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with POS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Preferred

  • Experience in a full-service hotel or upscale restaurant.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
