Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – State Facility

Location: Denton, Texas

Join a dedicated healthcare team providing compassionate care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a state-operated facility in Denton, TX. We are seeking experienced Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) who are committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.

Position Highlights
  • Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

  • Location: Denton, TX (State Facility)

  • Multiple Openings Available

  • Shift Options:

    • 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (3 openings)

    • 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (5 openings)

    • Days of the week are random so must be flexible

    • First 2 weeks it is a Monday - Friday Training.

  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of LVN experience required

Compensation
  • Local Candidates: $40.00/hour

  • Weekend Rate: $43.00/hour

  • Travelers: $43.00/hour (all shifts)

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, treatments, and nursing interventions.

  • Monitor patients' physical and behavioral health and report significant changes to the supervising RN or provider.

  • Accurately document all patient care in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Educate patients regarding medications and treatment plans.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support individualized care plans.

  • Promote a safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered environment.

  • Follow all facility policies, infection prevention standards, and state regulatory requirements.

  • Complete all required facility and state-mandated training.

Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.

  • Minimum of 2 years of LVN experience.

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health, mental health, or medically complex patients is highly preferred.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic health records (EHR).

Required Submission Documents

  • Current NURSYS report showing all active licenses
