Responsibilities
Assist with medication administration, including narcotic counts and medication passes, and maintain accurate records in the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
Re-order medications, check for expiration dates, and ensure proper storage and disposal
Monitor medication carts and report any discrepancies or missing medications to the charge nurse
Assist with feeding and hydration during meal times
Perform daily tasks, including refreshing ice in the dietary department and organizing the medication storage room
Collaborate with the nursing staff to ensure accurate and timely medication administration
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to facility policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing staff
Requirements
Current certification as a Medication Aide in the state of Texas
Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as needed
Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
