This role is part of our Hypersonics and Strategic Missile Defense business, which designs, develops, and delivers highly dependable missile systems for hypersonic and strategic missile defense missions. We provide integrated, mission-ready hardware that brings together multiple technologies into unified systems engineered to perform in demanding operational environments. Our tip-to-tail capabilities include payload protection and deployment systems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic interstage systems, separation systems, missile subsystems, shroud systems, launch systems, and payload integration solutions.
In this role, you will perform hands‑on assembly and testing tasks that support engineering, manufacturing, and production teams. You will assemble mechanical components, assist with test execution, track hardware through the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and support packaging and shipping activities. You will follow safe work practices and provide guidance to junior technicians while helping maintain efficient daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Performs mechanical assembly using fastening, bonding, and riveting based on written and verbal instructions.
- Supports engineering testing and manufacturing activities.
- Uses chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required for assembly work.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Uses the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to track hardware, update job status, and support production scheduling.
- Assists with test setup, procedure updates, test plan support, and data collection.
- Supports packaging and shipping of hardware and equipment.
- Observes and follows safety procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Provides guidance and leadership to junior Assembly Technicians.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an ATF Handler’s Permit.
- Strong proficiency with basic hand and power tools and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with test data acquisition and instrumentation.
- 4–7 years of experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments.
- Computer proficiency with common office applications.
- Valid driver’s license.
- This position requires U.S. person status under U.S. export control laws, including U.S. citizens and nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of military and commercial industry specifications.
Physical Requirements
- Moderate physical and repetitive work, including standing for extended periods, use of stairs, and occasional heavy lifting.
