Certified Dietary Manager

Job Summary:

ISH Dining Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our dietary services team in Oakland, Maryland. As a confident leader with strong organizational skills, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of dietary operations, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and satisfaction in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily dietary department operations and food service production

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health regulations

  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, safety, and infection control

  • Manage food and supply ordering, inventory, and cost control measures

  • Monitor meal quality, portion control, and resident dietary compliance

  • Supervise, train, and support dietary staff to ensure consistent performance

  • Develop and maintain schedules to meet department and resident needs

  • Conduct ongoing quality assurance and improve departmental processes

  • Collaborate with leadership to support resident care and satisfaction

  • Ensure readiness for surveys, audits, and inspections

Leadership & Expectations:

  • Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and teamwork

  • Make independent decisions to support daily operational needs

  • Maintain a positive and respectful work environment

  • Address staffing and operational challenges proactively

  • Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and administration

Qualifications:

  • Active Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required

  • Prior experience in healthcare food service or long-term care preferred

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Knowledge of dietary regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety practices

  • Experience with budgeting, inventory control, and cost management preferred

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, resident-focused environment

Schedule:

  • Full-time position

  • May include rotating weekends and holidays based on facility needs
