Environmental Scientist

Location: Idaho Falls, ID (100% Onsite) Schedule: 4x10 (Monday-Thursday) Duration: Anticipated August through September 30, 2027

Position Summary

CRI Advantage is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist. The successful candidate will provide technical support for environmental remediation activities, regulatory compliance, scientific analyses, and preparation of technical documentation required under Department of Energy (DOE) standards while collaborating with project management, technical staff, DOE personnel, and regulatory stakeholders.

Essential Job Duties

· Develop and publish technical documents including engineering design files, annual reports, and conceptual site models.

· Evaluate technical data and prepare summaries, conclusions, and recommendations.

· Support development of project documentation required by DOE Order 413.3B.

· Contribute to project scope, schedule, and budget development.

· Ensure solutions comply with applicable standards, regulations, and company policies.

· Participate in technical meetings with project personnel, DOE representatives, and regulatory agencies.

· Support design testing, operations, scientific analyses, document reviews, and field activities as assigned.

· Collaborate with project management and technical staff to resolve complex regulatory issues.

Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related scientific discipline.

· Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in environmental remediation, site characterization, or related scientific/engineering work.

· Experience with dose assessments, risk assessments, multi-media transport modeling, radiological analyses, and disposal performance assessments.

· Experience supporting facility design, construction, or closure projects.

· Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

· Ability to work onsite in Idaho Falls on a 4x10 schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

· DOE site experience.

· Experience with DOE Order 435.1.

· Experience supporting CERCLA, RCRA, and NEPA compliance.

· Experience with DOE Order 413.3B project documentation.

· Experience working with DOE, EPA, Idaho DEQ, Tribal Nations, and other stakeholders.

Safety & Compliance

Must comply with all applicable environmental, safety, health, security, and Integrated Safety Management System requirements. Candidate must be able to satisfy DOE site access and background screening requirements.
