Janitor

We are looking for a responsible Janitor who can perform custodian work required for the routine cleaning and upkeep of buildings. Required to respond to cleaning requests from various departments and facility management. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows safety standards, and helps ensure a clean, organized environment for the facility. This position is based at our Bell, CA. location. This is a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with overtime as needed. We offer competitive benefits and salary, plus up to $1.00/hr. increase after 90 days depending on job performance. You will be responsible for general housekeeping duties to include offices, plant, restrooms (light plumbing), breakrooms and all adjoining areas.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

• Clean/dust surfaces including windows and mirrors, vacuum carpets or mats and mop floors
• Empty wastebaskets and recycling bins in all offices and restrooms and outside areas throughout the plant, including the maintenance department
• Restock supplies in restrooms and break areas
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies and communicate shortages to supervisor
• Spot clean break areas as needed after normal break schedules
• Light plumbing repairs regarding fixtures (Hot & Cold-water faucets and hardware)
• Water closet (toilet) stoppages with a router
• Replacing and repairing leaking or faulty angle stops regarding hot and cold-water supply lines for sink/faucets and toilets
• Perform other cleaning or facility-related duties as assigned
• Ready and able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Light facility repairs, such as painting, patching and office equipment

About You

We Require:

• Previous janitorial or industrial cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50lbs.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment (noise, machinery, etc.)
