Parts Counter Salesperson
Job Description
Position Summary
The Parts Counter Salesperson is responsible for providing excellent customer service and parts
support for International® and Isuzu® commercial trucks. This role assists internal service
technicians, fleet customers, and retail customers in identifying, sourcing, and selling replacement
parts while maintaining accuracy in inventory transactions and order processing through the Procede
Dealer Management System.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist walk-in, phone, email, and fleet customers with parts inquiries and purchases.
Accurately identify parts utilizing OEM electronic parts catalogs, VIN information, service
documentation, and manufacturer resources.
Process parts invoices, quotes, special orders, and returns using the Procede DMS.
Support Service Department technicians by promptly supplying required parts for repair
orders.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through professional communication and timely
follow-up.
Promote OEM and aftermarket parts sales to maximize customer uptime and dealership
profitability.
Monitor and communicate parts availability, backorders, and shipment status.
Receive, stock, label, and organize inventory according to dealership procedures.
Process warranty, return, core, and vendor transactions accurately.
Participate in cycle counts and annual inventory activities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department.
Follow all dealership, manufacturer, and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous customer service experience.
Strong computer and data entry skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
Previous heavy-duty truck, automotive, equipment, or commercial vehicle parts experience.
Familiarity with International Truck and Isuzu parts catalogs and systems.
Experience using Procede DMS (Excede).
Knowledge of diesel engines, truck chassis, brake systems, suspension, and electrical
components.
Fleet or commercial transportation industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in identifying truck and engine components.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and interpret parts diagrams and technical information.
Effective sales and customer relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Ability to work in office, warehouse, and shop environments.
