What You Will Be Doing:

Strategic Leadership and Execution Planning: enable vision through well informed financial leadership

  • Serve as strategic advisor to Elders, Lead Team, and other leaders
  • Translate vision into financially sustainable plans
  • Wisely evaluate new ventures/campuses, leases, and major initiatives

Team Leadership and Development: coach, develop and guide a healthy, cohesive, high-capacity finance team

  • Lead all financial functions including finance, accounting, contributions and treasury
  • Develop future leaders and scalable structures
  • Model servant leadership and spiritual maturity

Financial Stewardship and Sustainability: ensure long-term financial health while honoring donor trust

  • Lead annual and multi-year financial planning
  • Align financial resources with ministry priorities
  • Monitor campus and ministry spending plans and actual expenses; explain variances
  • Lead annual audit

Central and Multi-Site Financial Operational Excellence: consistency, clarity and scalability across campuses and teams, ensuring the financial structure supports the whole body rather than individual entities

  • Lead all financial reporting and analysis; clearly communicate key data and insights
  • Direct all financial procedures; integrate continuous improvement
  • Leverage technology to support growth and accuracy; ensure processes scale with growth
  • Partner with the HR Team to negotiate benefits; monitor/forecast payroll and other employment expenses

Donor Confidence and Transparency: build trust through clarity and transparency

  • Lead giving systems and reporting; ensure appropriate transparency
  • Partner with the church’s stewardship ministry and campus leaders on generosity discipleship strategies

Governance, Controls and Compliance: protect the church through strong internal controls and transparency

  • Maintain strong internal controls and segregation of duties
  • Partner with external auditors, financial institutions, vendors and legal counsel
  • Lead elder finance committee reporting
  • Effectively manage business risks and secure insurance coverage; negotiate and approve key contracts

What We Are Looking For:

  • Significant (10+ years) management experience in accounting/finance leadership, preferably within a large multi-site nonprofit, church, or mission-driven organization.
  • CPA with Accounting or Finance degree; MBA preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, cultivate a healthy culture, build trust, and influence leaders. Strong team builder and team player.
  • Credible, humbly confident and inspirational executive leader; highest level of integrity.
  • High emotional intelligence with strong relational skills – ability to lead up, down and sideways with humility.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, complex environment. Steady demeanor under pressure. Bold and decisive.
  • Critical thinker who effectively challenges assumptions and quickly identifies root causes.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; able to communicate complex financial information in simple terms.
  • A student of the Word, who has an intimate walk with the Father, who is Spirit-led, and who is grounded in and living out a gospel-centric life
