The Horseshoe Café has been serving Bellingham for nearly 140 years, and we're looking for our next great cook to join the team.
We're a locally owned diner where people genuinely help each other out. We believe in treating coworkers with respect, and creating a kitchen where everyone pitches in. If you're dependable, enjoy staying busy, and take pride in doing things well, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Do
Every shift is a little different, but you can expect to:
- Cook classic diner favorites in a fast-paced short-order kitchen
- Prep ingredients and stock your station
- Keep your workspace clean and organized
- Help with dishes and kitchen projects when needed
- Jump in wherever the team needs support
We cross-train our kitchen staff, so you'll have opportunities to learn both line cooking and prep cooking.
What We're Looking For
You don't need decades of experience—we're looking for someone with a great attitude and strong work ethic.
You are:
- Reliable and show up ready to work
- Friendly and communicate well with others
- Able to stay productive during both busy rushes and slower periods
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- Willing to jump in and help wherever needed
Requirements
- Valid Washington State Food Worker Card
- Available to work weekends and some holidays
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen duties
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Pay & Benefits
Starting Pay
- $20/hour base wage
- Plus $2–4/hour average cash tips
- Typical starting earnings: $22–24/hour
