Job Summary
Morris Technology Solutions is seeking a Network Technician to support the final phase of a large-scale enterprise network integration for a leading healthcare organization. This is a full-time, approximatelytwo-month contract supporting a time-sensitive infrastructure migration project.
This hands-on role will focus on migrating network-connected devices from a legacy Cisco environment to a modern Cisco enterprise infrastructure throughout a hospital campus. The organization has been integrating multiple healthcare facilities and outpatient locations into a unified enterprise network, and this project represents the final phase of that effort.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys working with network hardware, and can work both independently and collaboratively to complete infrastructure migration activities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the migration of network-connected devices from a legacy Cisco network to a new enterprise Cisco infrastructure.
- Migrate devices including computers, printers, badge readers, security cameras, and other network-connected equipment.
- Remove and replace patch cables between switches and patch panels as part of network migration activities.
- Assist with the decommissioning and removal of legacy network hardware following successful cutovers.
- Perform hands-on infrastructure work within multiple IT closets and equipment rooms across the hospital campus.
- Follow migration plans, project documentation, and established procedures to ensure successful device cutovers.
- Document completed work and communicate project progress with technical team members.
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment while performing onsite infrastructure work.
- Collaborate with network engineers and other technical teams to complete migration activities efficiently and with minimal disruption.
Required Qualifications
- 13 years of experience in networking, IT infrastructure, desktop support, or a related technical role.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts including switches, structured cabling, patch panels, and TCP/IP.
- Experience working with network hardware in an enterprise environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Ability to lift and move network equipment and work within IT closets as needed.
- Must be able to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Ability to work occasional after-hours shifts as needed to support department schedules and migration activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting network migration, infrastructure refresh, or hardware deployment projects.
- Experience working with Cisco networking equipment, including Catalyst switches.
- Experience supporting enterprise healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, or other large campus environments.
- Associate's degree or technical training in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
- CCNA certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
