Toddler Classroom Assistant

We're seeking a dedicated classroom assistant to join our team in a regular, part-time basis for the upcoming school year. This valuable member of our toddler community will work alongside other staff to create a calm and nurturing lunch and nap environment. This is a special opportunity to give much-needed support on a regular part-time schedule with the option to extend hours through subsituting. Hours are 11:30-3:00.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing exceptional care and supervision for our children
• Collaborating with regular staff to facilitate community lunch time and calm nap time
• Monitoring the classroom and playground to ensure a safe and engaging environment
• Maintaining a clean and organized classroom space
• Contribute to a respectful and joyful community

Requirements include:

• Ability to easily get up from/down on the floor to children’s level as well as lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to be reliable, consistent, and flexible
• Ability to be able to adapt to the school’s philosophy and work as a team
• Prior experience with young children
• Strong communication skills
• High school diploma (early childhood certification or equivalent preferred)

A background in Montessori is a plus, but we're also open to candidates who are eager to learn and adopt Montessori practices
