Certified Fitter Orthotist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Certified Orthotic Fitter to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide high-quality orthotic care through patient evaluation, treatment planning, device fitting, and follow-up services. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive orthotic patient assessments and implement prescribed treatment plans
- Examine patients in relation to diagnosed conditions and functional limitations as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborate with physicians, orthotists, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate patient needs
- Cast, mold, fabricate, fit, adjust, modify, and repair orthotic devices
- Educate patients on the proper use and care of orthotic devices
- Fit and deliver orthotic devices, ensuring proper function, comfort, medical effectiveness, and quality
- Identify and resolve fit or function issues to ensure patient satisfaction
- Provide follow-up care and maintain communication with patients and referring providers
- Document detailed and accurate clinical notes in patient records
- Participate in internal training, team meetings, and clinical leadership activities
- Provide in-service education to physicians and healthcare professionals as needed
- Assist other clinical staff and communicate with administrative staff to support reimbursement processes
- Operate fabrication equipment safely for device modification when required
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
- Maintain compliance with all safety standards, Medicare and government regulations, OSHA requirements, and bloodborne pathogen protocols
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational success
Requirements for Position
- Current Certified Fitter - Orthotics (CFo) certification from the American Board for Certification (ABC).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong ability and willingness to adapt to new technologies, materials, and clinical techniques.
