We are a well-established heavy civil construction company seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our organization. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Lubbock, Texas, offering the opportunity to play a key leadership role in financial reporting, internal controls, job cost accounting, and the continued growth of the business.
We are looking for a candidate with 3+ years of accounting experience and 3+ years of experience supervising accounting staff, preferably within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, job cost accounting, ERP systems, and internal controls while thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee monthly financial close processes, general ledger accuracy, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Manage all accounting operations, including financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee job cost accounting, contract reporting, and project cost tracking to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports analyzing profitability, project costs, asset utilization, and overall business performance.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal control processes.
  • Supervise accounting staff while overseeing daily accounting operations and office financial workflows.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and other financial transactions.
  • Manage bank reconciliations and maintain the integrity of all financial records.
  • Coordinate external audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
  • Support ongoing financial planning initiatives while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising accounting staff.
  • Construction industry accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with construction ERP systems such as Foundation, Sage 300, or similar.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and job cost accounting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Salary range of $80,000–$90,000, based on experience and qualifications.
