Reports To: Manager on Duty

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our team at Cargo. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes according to recipes and standards while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, works well under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and kitchen standards.
• Ensure all food is cooked and presented properly before serving.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper food storage.
• Always follows food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with prep work, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
• Assist with inventory management and notify management of low-stock items.
• Handle special requests and dietary restrictions with care.
• Support opening and closing kitchen duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Previous cooking experience in a restaurant or similar setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Culinary training or certification is a plus but not required.
