Job Title: Structural Designer

Reports To: Structural Design Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


SUMMARY

The Structural Designer I assists in the design and production of construction documents ensuring the designs are efficient and compliant with building codes and industry standards.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Proficiency with AutoDesk software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve project constraints.
  • Assists with the design and detailing required to produce a complete set of construction documents.
  • Demonstrates a steadily increasing commitment to accuracy, thoroughness, and overall quality in all deliverables
  • Consistently demonstrates good judgment.
  • Consistently completes assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Travels in state for work occasionally. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

An associate of science degree in computer-aided drafting and design with 1-2 years of experience in structural design is preferred. Must have working knowledge of AutoDesk software such as AutoCAD and Revit and Microsoft Office.


LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must have effective verbal and written communication skills. Reads, writes, and reviews with a high level of comprehension and attention to detail. Responds effectively to common inquiries from internal and external sources. Capably presents reports and information to colleagues and leaders as needed. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
