Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment throughout the facility. This position plays a vital role in infection prevention, resident satisfaction, and the overall appearance of the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, hallways, dining areas, and common areas

• Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, and polish assigned areas according to facility standards

• Collect and dispose of trash and regulated waste in accordance with facility procedures

• Restock linens, paper products, toiletries, and housekeeping supplies as needed

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of housekeeping closets, carts, and storage areas

• Follow established infection prevention and control procedures

• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to manufacturer instructions

• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and supply needs to the appropriate department

• Respond promptly and courteously to resident and staff requests

• Work cooperatively with all departments to ensure a clean and welcoming environment

• Attend required meetings and training sessions

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, environmental services, hospitality, or healthcare experience preferred, but not required

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and infection control practices preferred

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods

• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday

• Must be able to push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

• Must be able to work in various environmental conditions within the facility
