About This Role
Kids in Motion Academy is looking for a caring, energetic, and dependable Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our team! If you enjoy working with young children and are passionate about helping them learn and grow in a nurturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
The Toddler Assistant Teacher works closely with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for toddlers. This position assists with implementing daily classroom activities, supervising children, maintaining classroom organization, and meeting the individual needs of each child while ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and center policies.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities aligned with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS).
- Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and rest time.
- Help create a positive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play and daily interactions.
- Assist with diapering, toileting, handwashing, feeding, and other personal care routines while maintaining proper sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
- Communicate professionally with families during arrival and dismissal.
- Assist with documenting daily activities, meals, naps, and classroom observations.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members.
- Follow all Bright from the Start licensing regulations and Kids in Motion Academy policies.
- Attend required staff meetings and professional development trainings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- CDA, TCC, or coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working with toddlers or young children is preferred.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and meet all Bright from the Start requirements.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
