Responsibilities
- Organize and facilitate patient care in the Operating Room, circulating and scrubbing as assigned.
- Coordinate care between surgeon, anesthesia team, and room staff; verify surgical site/side prior to induction.
- Perform a first-assistant role during incision, excision, and repair of pathology under privileges granted.
- Conduct preoperative assessment and planning for selected surgical patients in collaboration with the team.
- Participate in sponge, needle, sharp, and instrument counts; handle and dissect tissues in collaboration with the surgeon.
- Clamp vessels, coagulate bleeding points, ligate vessels, and suture muscle, fascia, subcutaneous, and skin tissue as appropriate; place drains as indicated.
- Assist with cannulation/decannulation procedures when indicated and support patient transfer as needed per perioperative protocol.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (CA required)
- Completion of an RNFA program that meets AORN standards (Required)
- CNOR certification (Required)
- PALS certification (Required)
- BLS certification (Required)
- 1–2 years of RNFA/CNOR experience (Required)
- Two years of perioperative nursing experience (Preferred)
- Ability to work day shift with after-hours call, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- AORN membership is Preferred
