Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Mechanics- Level 1 Technician for our client. This job is responsible for perform basic mechanical maintenance, equipment repairs, and facility upkeep in a manufacturing environment.
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Mechanics- Level 1 Technician for our client. This job is responsible for perform basic mechanical maintenance, equipment repairs, and facility upkeep in a manufacturing environment.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following good housekeeping practices.
- Safely operate and maintain basic shop tools, including grinders, saws, drills, bearing presses, and other equipment.
- Properly use acetylene torches for cutting and heating applications.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs, including soldering pipes, cutting, and gluing PVC.
- Replace mechanical components such as valves, bearings, filters, V-belts, and similar equipment parts.
- Perform basic building maintenance, including painting, cleaning, and minor facility repairs.
- Repair wire belt and plastic conveyor systems.
- Maintain and repair chain and sprocket, belt and pulley, and flexible and rigid coupling drive systems.
- Break and splice various types of industrial chains as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance and other duties as assigned.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous mechanical maintenance or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience using basic shop tools and mechanical equipment safely.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, conveyor systems, and mechanical drive components.
- Ability to replace bearings, valves, belts, filters, and other mechanical parts.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
- Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
- Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Communication skills.
