JOB SUMMARY:
Non-Tenure Track Position in BSN Program. Primary expectations include teaching undergraduate courses (as assigned) in the School of Nursing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
- Collaborate with other faculty members with development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum.
- Provide appropriate classroom/laboratory/clinical instruction for students enrolled in assigned nursing course(s).
- Maintain expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
- Enrich the community through university outreach and assist in student development outside the classroom.
- Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Nursing. Maintain professional development activities.
- Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous teaching experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Current/unencumbered Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Missouri.
- Current healthcare provider CPR.
- Master's in nursing degree required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
