JOB SUMMARY:

Non-Tenure Track Position in BSN Program. Primary expectations include teaching undergraduate courses (as assigned) in the School of Nursing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members with development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum.
  • Provide appropriate classroom/laboratory/clinical instruction for students enrolled in assigned nursing course(s).
  • Maintain expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
  • Enrich the community through university outreach and assist in student development outside the classroom.
  • Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Nursing. Maintain professional development activities.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous teaching experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Current/unencumbered Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Missouri.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR.
  • Master's in nursing degree required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
