As a teacher at Pointe Academy, you will play a vital role in shaping children’s earliest experiences of learning, faith, and community — all through the power of play.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that are fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate
- Provide a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
- Facilitate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Monitor and assess student progress to support individualized learning
- Communicate effectively with parents about daily routines, developmental milestones, and classroom updates
- Support diapering, potty training, and responsive caregiving routines
- Design and maintain a consistent daily and weekly classroom schedule
- Provide basic care and nurturing support throughout the day
- Evaluate children’s growth to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
- Maintain open, respectful communication with families and colleagues
- CDA or Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred (we will train the right candidate)
- 1-2 years previous experience with infants, toddlers, or twos in a childcare or educational setting required
- Understanding of child development and classroom management strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to Christian faith and values is required
- Familiarity with ProCare is a plus
- Basic knowledge of sign language is a plus
- First aid/CPR certified
