Transit Fixed Route Dispatch

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for ensuring on-time performance and optimum equipment utilization. Professionally communicate with Customers, Operators, Dispatchers, and Management team to ensure an effective dispatch operation. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will be held accountable to communicate (Click up) all pertinent information to next level of management
• Primary Radio Communicators to all drivers regarding their runs and any situations or concerns that may occur during the day
• All incidents/accidents, breakdowns are communicated through the dispatch to the necessary departments
• Comprehensive understanding of company policies, county polices and accountability to both
• Conduct reasonable suspicion training course
• Responsible for demonstrating safety and providing exceptional customer service
• Follow Union protocol – following seniority guidelines early starts, day off requests
• Homeland Security – opening and closing procedures
• Safety Sensitive job function – will be a part of the Random Drug & Alcohol pool
• Uniform compliance, hold self-accountable to a high standard for others to follow
• Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
• Must be an open-minded, problem solver, with the ability to multitask and maintain composure
• Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities
• Monitors available, unavailable, inbound, outbound, soon-to-clear vehicles to ensure proper coverage for available business
• Informs oncoming shift and relief dispatchers, lead dispatchers, operations supervisors of all important information
• Collaboration in the office is an essential job function, for effective communication and cross training

QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred 0 - 2 years’ experience in the Transportation Industry
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and problem solve
• Strong customer service/support and problem resolution skills required
• Sensitivity skills, treating the work force with dignity and respect
• Understands, encourages, and carries out the principles of safety management
• Experience in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
• Strong Working knowledge of Suffolk County geography

Salary Range: $57k - $72K
