SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of Infants and Toddler classrooms. Works closely with the Preschool/Pre-K Curriculum Coordinator and Early Intervention/Inclusion Coordinator, and Sr. Lead Teacher in the management of Center operations, implementation of the Child Development Center’s policies and procedures, development and training of staff, and all other Center activities.


PRIMARY DUTY:

  • Ensure that all Infant and Toddler classrooms provide a developmentally appropriate early learning environment in accordance with Bright from the Start, and Georgia Quality Rated


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold and represent Center philosophy, policies, and regulations to parents, staff, visitors, and others while at the Center and in the community.

  • Assist with licensing and accreditation processes

  • Review and approve all Infant and Toddler lesson plans weekly, providing feedback to teachers as necessary

  • Provide and/or schedule training for Infant and Toddler teachers to ensure all staff, to ensure that teachers have effective professional development plans

  • Monitor Brightwheel documentation for Infant and Young Toddler classrooms, to ensure that accurate data is collected, and used to guide lesson planning

  • Assist with interviewing

  • Assist with conducting teacher performance evaluations

  • Assist with licensing and accreditation processes

  • Provide classroom coverage, as necessary

  • Provide front desk coverage, opening or closing administrative duties from 4:00-5:30 daily as needed

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

%CF; Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds

%CF; Ability to lift from floor to chest level

%CF; Ability to reach, bend, and stand for long periods of time

%CF; Ability to sit on classroom floor and/or small chairs


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to and is under the direct supervision of the Sr. Dir. of Child Development Programs & Operations. Responsible for the direct supervision of the infant and toddler teachers. Works closely with all members of the CDP administrative team.


EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • In depth knowledge of Experience Curriculum and GELDS

  • Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice for children 6 weeks to preschool age

  • Strong knowledge of DECAL regulations and standards

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate child and adult learning

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • MA/BA in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred

  • 2 years’ supervisory experience
