Camellia Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team at our skilled nursing facility in Henderson, NC. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and meeting the dietary needs of our residents. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus, therapeutic diets, and physician-ordered dietary restrictions.

  • Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.

  • Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and infection control procedures.

  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local dietary and food safety regulations.

  • Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitized.

  • Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate food safety records as required.

  • Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and healthcare team to meet residents' nutritional needs.

  • Provide courteous, friendly, and professional service to residents, visitors, and fellow team members.

  • Assist with other dietary department duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Current ServSafe Certification (or the ability to obtain certification as required).

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare, long-term care, hospital, or institutional food service setting is preferred.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety practices, and sanitation standards.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position and work safely in a healthcare environment.
