Our client, a leading commercial property management company, is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their growing accounting team. As a key senior member, you will manage complex commercial property accounting, review the work of junior staff, ensure technical accuracy, and partner with the Controller and Assistant Controller to deliver timely, high-quality financial reporting. What You’ll Do:
  • Lead monthly GAAP and tax-basis financial closes for sophisticated commercial properties, funds, and partnership structures
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations (including CAM), accruals, estimates, and close packages prepared by team members
  • Prepare and analyze internal financial reports, variance explanations, and provide actionable management insights
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned audits and coordinate directly with external auditors
  • Research and apply U.S. GAAP to complex and non-routine transactions; support the adoption of new accounting standards and firm policies
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedure documentation
  • Mentor and coach junior accountants while contributing to process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Property Management, Lease Administration, Treasury, and Investor Relations teams

What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Public accounting background is a plus
  • Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to review work, deliver constructive feedback, and mentor others

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base salary: $100,000 – $125,000 (commensurate with experience)
