Company Description Breast Rehabilitation & Healing Center is a full-service Occupational Therapy practice that has been caring for patients for over 25 years. The practice provides technologically advanced medical care to individuals of all ages. Clinical services focus on pre/post Mastectomy therapy as well as Lymphedema Therapy services. Team members collaborate to deliver high quality, specialized care that supports recovery and long-term health.

Role Description The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will support our Occupational Therapist in providing evidence -based rehabilitation services to patients in our office. This part-time (up to 25 hours a week), on-site role is located in our Westwood, NJ location, working under the supervision of an occupational therapist. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, assisting with therapeutic activities, documenting patient progress, and supporting rehabilitation goals for individuals with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. The role involves educating patients and families on exercises, adaptive techniques, and safe use of equipment, as well as contributing to discharge planning and home programs. The COTA will collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinical staff to promote functional independence and a safe return to daily activities. Training will be available.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Occupational Therapy interventions, including implementing treatment plans and supporting functional improvement.
  • Strong Patient Care skills, including communication, empathy, and ability to motivate patients of diverse ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to assist with Program Development and home exercise programs that support safe progression and long-term outcomes.
  • Competence in Home Care planning, including education on safe techniques, adaptive strategies, and use of assistive devices.
  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and active NJ state licensure (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Knowledge of documentation standards, basic EMR use, and adherence to regulatory and ethical guidelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and manage a part-time caseload efficiently.
  • CPR certification and previous outpatient experience are preferred.
