Under the direction of the Medical Records Technical Advisor the HIM Assistant is responsible for the following:

  • Organizes and manages health information data.
  • Ensures that the information maintains its quality, accuracy, accessibility and security in the electronic health system.
  • Sorting and scanning patient information (paper) into the system.
  • Preloading data from reports needed for quality measures.
  • Tracking and completing referrals.
  • Pulling reports from hospitals, requested by the provider.
  • Answering the telephone and processing patient's record requests.


Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
  • Medical Records experience strongly preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years medical office experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, multi-tasking and working as a team player needed to be successful in this role.


Location

Society Hill, SC


Hours

Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
