Educational Assistant - PT - Juvenile Detention Center

Hourly Pay: $24.89 - $26.72

** Must be 22 years of Age or older

The purpose of this classification is to provide supplemental and basic education classroom related support and assistance to the Juvenile Detention Center's Teacher. Duties and responsibilities include educating/encouraging teenagers to become productive members of society, assisting teacher in developing supplemental and basic educational materials and performing instructional tasks in small groups or individually, record keeping, and preparing reports.

As a part-time Educational Assistant at the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center, you'll support the classroom teacher by providing basic and supplemental educational help that contributes to youth growth and community impact.

Key responsibilities include assisting with lesson planning and creating supplemental materials; delivering literacy and numeracy instruction in small groups or one-on-one; applying classroom management techniques in a secure setting; maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports; and communicating clearly while following confidentiality and safety procedures.

Preferred qualifications/skills:
- Experience working with at-risk youth
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with record keeping/report writing and Microsoft Office
- Ability to support instruction and manage a structured classroom environment
