Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Bartender
STATUS: Full Time/Part Time
FLSA: Non - Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Food & Beverage
Position Summary
Responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for
guests in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner while providing
exceptional experience to members and guests. Maintains a clean, organized bar
area, follows Club service standards, and assists with food and beverage
operations to ensure outstanding member experience.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Always displays the highest standards of service, welcoming members in a
polite, gracious, and enthusiastic manner; always paying attention and
anticipating their needs.
- Take and prepare beverage orders, mixing ingredients, such as liquor, soda,
water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks according to
standard recipes. Serve wine and draft or bottled beer.
- Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team
members.
- Complete and oversee set-up and breakdown of the bar area.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, remain
composed under pressure, and exercises good judgment to resolve concerns
and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Complete all assigned opening, closing, and side work each shift to ensure the
bar is fully stocked, organized, and prepared to meet anticipated service
demands.
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and conduct at all times,
demonstrating proper etiquette when interacting with members, guests, and
fellow team members.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menus, daily specials,
and the Club's service standards and sequence of service to provide accurate
information and exceptional service to members and guests.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Club’s facilities, services, programs, and
events to proactively assist members and guests, providing accurate
information through clear, courteous, and professional communication.
- Follow and enforce all health, safety, sanitation, and workplace policies and
procedures to maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment for members,
guests, and fellow team members.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Comprehensive knowledge of bartending techniques, standard drink recipes,
wines, beer, and spirits.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing
the responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
- Minimum of one (1) year of bartending, food and beverage, hospitality, or
related customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally while establishing and
maintaining positive relationships with members, guests, vendors, and fellow
team members.
- Customer service orientated with a commitment to delivering exceptional
service and creating a positive experience for members and guests.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations.
CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Valid Driver’s License.
2. Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings.
3. A Server Permit (On-Premise Permit)
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Working conditions are performed in both interior and exterior surroundings. Physical
strength demands may require lifting, carrying, pulling or pushing objects weighing up to
50 pounds.
