Primary Purpose: Drives students between campuses, to sporting events and field trips, and church functions on an as needed basis. Consistently reflects God’s love in every interaction, serving as a positive influence on staff, students, and families for Christ, while fully embodying the Sunlight Way in all areas of responsibility.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

School Bus Driver

• Operate the school bus safely and courteously.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections as required by Florida law.
• Maintain student order and safety during transportation.
• Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents immediately.
• Follow all assigned routes, schedules, and school policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Florida CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Maintain a current DOT medical certificate.
• Pass a Level 2 background screening as required by Florida law (§1012.465, F.S.).
• Comply with all applicable transportation safety laws, including participation in random drug and alcohol testing per FMCSA and Florida regulations.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Excellent communication, organization, strong interpersonal skills.

Experience:

A minimum of three years driving a school bus required.

All employees are subject to a background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
