Job Title: Production Supervisor

Location: Tracy, CA

Salary: $70,000 – $75,000

Schedule: 2nd shift

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating production activities to ensure efficient operations, product quality, and adherence to safety and food safety standards. This role oversees production staff and crew leaders to meet internal production goals and customer deadlines while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Promote and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  2. Analyze work orders to estimate labor hours and develop production schedules that meet internal and external demands.
  3. Calculate required stock and supplies based on production schedules and requisition materials as needed.
  4. Plan and coordinate the flow of materials through the department and optimize equipment layout based on production needs.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  6. Inspect and measure parts and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  7. Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  8. Develop, recommend, and implement improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  9. Recommend changes in working conditions and equipment usage to improve efficiency and productivity.
  10. Analyze and resolve operational issues and assist team members in problem-solving.
  11. Maintain accurate timekeeping and production records.
  12. Work closely with Quality Assurance and Quality Systems Auditors to ensure effective execution of maintenance-related sanitation and food safety programs, including proper documentation.
  13. Adhere to all HACCP and Food Safety policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  14. Comply with all Employee Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
  15. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making abilities.
  16. Foster teamwork and maintain positive working relationships across departments to minimize conflict and promote collaboration.
  17. Perform other reasonable job-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 5 years of management experience or equivalent demonstrated leadership experience.
  2. Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
  3. Ability to develop and maintain procedures, job descriptions, and related documentation.
  4. Knowledge of food industry regulations and standards, including GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs, OSHA, and USDA requirements.
  5. Ability to work flexible schedules, including any shift, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer skills.


Working Condtions & Physical Requirments

  1. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  2. Ability to bend and work under or around equipment.
  3. Ability to safely use ladders to access elevated areas.
  4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  5. Ability to effectively use sight, hearing, touch, and smell.
  6. Ability to work in refrigerated temperatures.
  7. Ability to work in wet environments.
  8. Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
