Lab Assistant, Clinical Laboratory, Full Time, Flex Shift, 5 days/week, 8 hr Shifts, Job ID # 182498

Position Summary: Performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing. Performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens. Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned. Will perform waived testing and assist in Microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested.Position Qualification: One (1) year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy trainingBasic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferredRequired Licenses/Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of Phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar preferredPhlebotomy Certification where State law requiresCommunication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with all levels of the organization
