2nd SHIFT SCHEDULE - shift start time = 4pm - shift end time = Midnight
Work location = 2650 Southport Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302
*Previous experience as a machine operator is required.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position to cross-train on multiple machines - Cutting line, Tear Line and Bale Press to determine what is the best fit.
Responsible for operation of LaRoche and Margasa machines and associated equipment to affect the timeliness and quality production of finished material. This is accomplished by setting the machine feed rate and adjusting the machine operating parameters to the most common optimum settings for each grade. The operator should be skilled at routine servicing procedures for box discharge systems and machines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a warehouse position in a non-climate controlled warehouse. Employees are typically standing on concrete floors 7+ hours a day. Due to our manufacturing process there is a lot of dust/fiber in the air and on the floor. All employees work together to keep a clean and safe work space.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Recommend safety improvements
- Recommend production improvements
- Comply with all safety and management programs
- Be an active participant in work team development
- Keep workplace clean and orderly
- Provide on the job training as assigned by supervisor for other employees.
- Ability to take direction from team lead and/or shift supervisor
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Capable of performing tasks including but not limited to:
Working at heights and working in confined spaces.
Able to read, write and convey ideas.
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs with adequate body flexibility.
Ability to take direction/leadership from team lead and/or shift supervisor
Must work well with others
