Medical Assistant Front Office OBGYN

The Medical Assistant Front Office OBGYN plays a crucial role as the initial point of contact for patients, supporting a small administrative team in a dynamic medical practice. This position involves managing scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and medical records to ensure smooth office operations and excellent patient service. The role reports directly to the Office Manager and Medical Office Supervisor and serves a diverse patient demographic focused on multiple specialties, including OBGYN. Proficiency with Athena EMR and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient scheduling and appointment coordination
• Verify insurance coverage and support insurance billing processes
• Perform patient registration and handle front desk customer service
• Maintain accurate medical records and document in Athena EMR
• Conduct phone triage and data entry duties
• Serve as the first face of the practice, ensuring positive patient experiences
• Support HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Assisting or related field
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical assisting experience
• Proficiency with Athena EMR system
• Expertise in patient scheduling and medical records management
• Experience with insurance verification and customer service
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance
• Excellent multitasking, communication, and time management skills
