Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: San Fernando Valley, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $99,840

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of industrial housings, enclosures, and mechanical systems.
  • Design products that meet IP, NEMA, and explosion-proof requirements.
  • Translate customer and internal requirements into practical, manufacturable designs.
  • Develop tooling, production fixtures, and test fixtures.
  • Coordinate product certification and compliance testing with internal teams and third-party agencies.
  • Create and maintain drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, fabrication documentation, and cost estimates.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support for manufacturing and field-related issues.
  • Work closely with customers, vendors, suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support engineering best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience designing industrial or related mechanical products.
  • Experience supporting low to medium volume manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods, including machining, sheet metal, castings, and plastics.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software such as Pro/ENGINEER, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Experience using 2D AutoCAD or comparable drafting software.
  • Knowledge of FEA, heat transfer, strength of materials, and other mechanical analysis methods.
  • Ability to create accurate manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly documentation.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with external vendors and customers.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing-related software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing IP rated, NEMA rated, or explosion proof housings.
  • Experience coordinating third-party certification and compliance testing.
  • Previous experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
Additional Information
Occasional extended hours may be required to support critical customer needs or meet project deadlines.
