Responsibilities
- Provide Speech-Language Pathology evaluations and treatments for both adult and pediatric patients in an outpatient setting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor plans of care with measurable goals; adjust based on patient response.
- Document encounters, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress in the appropriate health records; ensure accuracy for continuity of care and reimbursement.
- Collaborate with the care team, participate in rounds and care conferences, and coordinate with referring providers and other rehabilitation professionals.
- Educate patients and families; develop and deliver home exercise programs; promote independence and self-care.
- Supervise, when assigned, support staff, students, or interns; participate in program development and quality improvement efforts.
- Occasional travel to remote locations by boat or plane may be required to support patient needs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Alaska state license in Speech-Language Pathology; CCC-SLP required at submittal.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric outpatient experience; demonstrated ability to manage adult and pediatric caseloads.
- Flu vaccine required.
- Ability to work in outpatient settings and to travel to remote locations as needed.
