As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to join our Bluffton, South Carolina office.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated, client-focused attorney to manage and support our growing estate planning practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in estate planning, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing thoughtful, responsive, and high-quality legal service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working directly with clients, wants to build meaningful long-term relationships, and is interested in growing their career within an established Lowcountry law firm.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand their personal, family, and financial objectives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive estate plans tailored to each client's individual circumstances.
- Prepare, review, and explain wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and other estate planning documents.
- Advise clients regarding estate planning strategies and the administration and transfer of assets.
- Assist clients with estate and probate matters as needed.
- Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professional advisors when appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients throughout the estate planning process.
- Maintain accurate client files, deadlines, and work product.
- Stay current on applicable South Carolina estate planning and probate laws and regulations.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm's estate planning practice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing.
- North Carolina Bar licensure is not required, but is a plus.
- 1–3+ years of estate planning experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of estate planning concepts and documents.
- Exceptional client service skills and professional communication.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- A genuine interest in building long-term client relationships and becoming an integral part of the Lowcountry community.
