Alta Mira Early Intervention might be the right fit for you! Forty-hour-a-week position with no overtime, and time built into your day for documentation! Work with a multidisciplinary team to serve children from birth to age 3 with developmental delays and disabilities in their homes and natural environments. Caseloads helped you provide the most thoughtful and thorough interventions to each and every client!


What we offer:


Paid Time Off – from 150 to 304 hours a year

Paid Sick Leave - 1 hour for every 30 hours worked

Paid Holidays – 5 holidays per year

Paid Jury Duty Leave - up to 2 weeks

Winter Break – agency is closed from December 24th through New Year’s Day (paid)

Educational Leave – 40 hours after 6 months of employment

Bereavement Leave – up to 24 hours

Vision – vision through VSP at $1.67

Requirements:

  • Current New Mexico Occupational Therapy License
  • Able to work well with others as part of a transdisciplinary team
  • Able to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
  • Able to walk, sit, stand, reach, stoop, and bend.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry small objects from waist to chest.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a driver’s license, and current auto insurance
  • Able to maintain a clean driving record

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate children to determine eligibility for early intervention.
  • Help families of eligible children think about the goals they want to pursue to enhance their child’s overall development.
  • Provide services in each eligible child’s home or childcare to help them meet their established developmental goals.
  • Support the belief that a child’s development is too complex to be addressed by a single discipline; actively refer to and consult with other disciplines to better understand and coordinate the team’s approach to each child and family.
  • Advocate for children within the larger medical system; consult with pediatricians and medical specialists to share developmental information and help the family with next steps in obtaining diagnoses and resources.
  • Teach families strategies they can use in between therapy visits to help their children meet developmental goals.
  • Observe, reinforce, and nurture the caregiver-child relationship to help parents understand their role.
  • Help families transition to appropriate services, if needed, after children turn 3.
  • Follow program procedures regarding documentation, billing, data, and service delivery timelines.
