Assembly Helper

Job Summary

The Assembly Helper supports production operations by assisting mechanics with assembly tasks, handling materials, operating shop equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. This role is essential to maintaining efficient workflow and ensuring safety and quality standards are met throughout the shop.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist mechanics during assembly by holding materials in place and supporting manual assembly processes
  • Operate shop equipment including grinders, bolt drivers, band saws, and similar tools
  • Perform general production support tasks as assigned
  • Load, unload, move, and stage raw materials, consumables, and finished assemblies throughout the shop
  • Operate material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, cranes, or similar machinery as required
  • Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and machinery
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Maintain a clean work area to support a safe working environment


Required Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical stamina with the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stretch, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Reliable transportation to and from the shop


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, or flow shop environments
  • Background in plumbing or pipefitting
  • Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, lulls, or similar machinery
  • Basic understanding of technical drawings and piping assemblies
  • Familiarity with power tools and measuring tools (e.g., tape measures)
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn from senior fabricators
