We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support hiring initiatives for a Contract position based in Merrillville, Indiana. In this role, you will manage recruitment activities from initial intake through offer stage while helping leaders make informed hiring decisions through talent market insights and process guidance. This opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong sourcing ability with a consultative approach and a focus on creating an efficient, compliant, and positive candidate experience.
Responsibilities:
• Design recruiting plans tailored to business priorities, role requirements, and current labor market conditions.
• Create effective job advertisements and post openings through appropriate channels to attract suitable talent.
• Identify, engage, and assess candidates using direct sourcing, application review, phone screens, and virtual interviews.
• Partner with hiring managers on offer development, presentation, and candidate negotiations to support successful hires.
• Build and maintain active talent pipelines for recurring and high-priority positions through ongoing outreach on platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed.
• Develop relationships with colleges, community organizations, industry associations, and detail-oriented groups to expand talent networks and support employer visibility.
• Lead intake discussions and recurring update meetings with hiring leaders to align on expectations, hiring progress, interview feedback, and next steps.
• Provide market intelligence on talent availability, competitor activity, and compensation trends to help refine hiring strategies and timelines.
• Maintain accurate recruitment records and reporting while supporting compliance with legal and affirmative action requirements.
• Recommend improvements to recruiting workflows and candidate experience to increase efficiency and consistency.• 2+ years of experience in talent acquisition, full-cycle recruiting, or a related recruitment function.
• Demonstrated ability to source and engage candidates through multiple channels, including job boards and networking platforms.
• Experience managing the hiring process from requisition intake through offer stage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills with the ability to advise hiring managers effectively.
• Knowledge of recruitment compliance practices and documentation standards.
• Ability to analyze market trends, candidate availability, and hiring data to support decision-making.
• Background in talent branding or employer outreach is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple openings and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
