HR Generalist

Location: New London County, CT

A well known company in New London County is seeking an HR Generalist to join its team due to continued growth. This role will have a strong focus on payroll and benefits administration, along with supporting a variety of HR projects and day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time
  • Review timecards, attendance, overtime, and PTO balances
  • Handle payroll changes including new hires, terminations, wage updates, bonuses, deductions, and garnishments
  • Maintain payroll records, tax forms, and direct deposit information
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies
  • Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with payroll regulations
  • Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Assist employees with benefits questions and coordinate with vendors
  • Support open enrollment and benefits communications
  • Maintain HR files, onboarding paperwork, and employee documentation
  • Assist with workers’ compensation, leave tracking, compliance projects, audits, and other ad hoc HR initiatives

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll, benefits, or HR support
  • Experience with payroll systems and HRIS preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Experience processing full-cycle payroll

• Proficiency with payroll processing software and HRIS

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues, correct errors, and maintain accurate records.

• Familiarity with benefits administration processes and payroll deduction coordination.
