Program Summary

A comprehensive Beacon Community School Model at Bryant School Elementary School. The Good Samaritan FRC Beacon for all TK-5th grade students at Bryant Elementary School fosters and facilitates programs and systems that utilize the San Francisco Beacon Community School Model that is student-centered and provides a safe and supportive culture and climate. We utilize comprehensive strategies for youth development, family partnerships, school transitions, and behavioral health and wellness; providing out of school time and school day academic supports and interventions, enrichment programing, summer learning camp, and opportunities for families to fully engage in their child's academic journey and school community.


Position Summary

Program Manager – Expanded Learning & Family Partnerships Manager, working closely with and under the guidance and supervision of the Beacon Director manages the implementation and quality of afterschool, enrichment, family engagement, and expanded learning services at the Bryant Elementary Beacon Community School. This position will provide direct supervision and coaching to Site Assistants. This position ensures high-quality youth development programming, strong family engagement practices, and meaningful opportunities for families to connect with the school community while supporting student success beyond the school day.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations and ensure quality of the Expanded Learning afterschool program, expanded learning opportunities, and enrichment activities.
  • Fosters a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented site culture
  • Lead family partnership and engagement efforts and activities, including workshops, family events, leadership opportunities, and school-community connections.
  • Provides direct supervision, coaching, evaluation, and professional development to Site Assistants.
  • Creates work plans, schedules, and systems that support high-quality after-school and family engagement services.
  • Monitors enrollment, attendance, participation, and program quality indicators.
  • Coordinates field trips, special events, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Collaborates with school staff, families, and community partners to strengthen family engagement and student success.
  • Performs administrative and operational duties including attendance tracking, data collection, scheduling, reporting, and communication with families and school staff.
  • Assists the Beacon Director in ensuring compliance with ExCEL, DCYF, SFUSD, Beacon Initiative, and other funding requirements.
  • Supports program evaluation, continuous quality improvement efforts, and required reporting to all funders.
  • Maintains accurate program records and documentation
  • Meet all data reporting deadlines
  • Upholds and enforces all safety policies and procedures.
  • Fulfills all Excell Site Coordinator responsibilities.
  • Serves as a van driver and chaperone for field trips and program activities as needed.
  • Represents and advances GSFRC's mission, values, and Community School vision.

Other Responsibilities

  • Keeps the mission and values of GSFRC and the Beacon Community School Model at the forefront of all programmatic decisions.
  • Participates in scheduled agency meetings, trainings, and events.
  • Represents GSFRC and the Bryant Beacon in school, community, and citywide meetings as assigned.
  • Supports collaboration between school-day staff, families, community partners, and Beacon staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of staff documentation, timesheets, and administrative requirements.
  • Serves as a positive, solution-oriented leader and role model.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Beacon Director.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience and success working in youth programs and services preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent AND passed SFUSD District Instructional Aide Exam; OR High school diploma or equivalent AND passed CBEST; OR High school diploma or equivalent AND 48 college units (official transcripts required); OR associate degree or higher.
  • Strong understanding of youth development, equity, cultural and community-based work
  • Experience working in schools and with diverse communities
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)

Desired Qualifications

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Requirements

  • Must complete a full background check (Department of Justice, FBI, Child Abuse Index) after conditional offer is made.
  • Must have TB clearance
  • Requires a valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Must complete and maintain current California Mandated Reporter Training certification, in compliance with California state law.
