Waitress or Waiter/Part-Time

The Waitress or Waiter/Part-Time serves food and beverages to patrons in a dining establishment, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This role requires engaging with customers, taking accurate orders, and coordinating with kitchen staff. The individual contributor reports to the floor manager and works shifts that may include weekends, holidays, and split hours. Proficiency with POS software is essential for efficient order taking and payment handling.

Responsibilities

• Present menu, answer questions, and make food suggestions
• Take customer orders accurately by writing or memorization
• Communicate orders to kitchen staff promptly
• Serve pre-ordered food to customers
• Monitor diners to address additional requests and meal completion
• Total bills and handle payments or refer patrons to cashier
• Clear and reset tables between courses
• Thank patrons and invite them to return

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some previous related work experience
• Knowledge of Toast, Aloha, or SpotOn POS systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of food service experience
• Proficiency in POS system operation
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Cash handling experience
