TX-STAR Speech Language Services partners with school districts throughout Texas to help students access specialized educational services. We are currently seeking Dyslexia Therapists/Teachers for school-based opportunities in the Austin area.

These positions are a strong fit for educators who are passionate about literacy development and committed to helping students with dyslexia improve their reading and language skills through structured, research-based instruction.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher, you will provide focused intervention services that strengthen foundational literacy skills and help students become more confident, independent readers.

In this role, you will:

  • Implement dyslexia intervention services using the Read by Design program

  • Lead individual and small-group instruction in decoding, reading fluency, comprehension, spelling, and related language skills

  • Collect and review student performance data to guide instructional decisions

  • Modify intervention strategies based on student progress and identified learning needs

  • Complete service logs, progress reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time

  • Coordinate with classroom teachers, campus administrators, families, and student-support professionals

  • Participate in ARD, IEP, and Section 504 meetings and provide relevant updates and recommendations

  • Ensure instruction, services, and accommodations follow student plans and district procedures

Qualifications for This Position

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field

  • Certification as a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher or a current and valid teaching certification

  • Previous experience delivering instruction through the Read by Design program

  • Knowledge of dyslexia identification, structured literacy practices, and evidence-based reading interventions

  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Ability to independently coordinate an assigned caseload, service schedule, and required documentation
