About Fat Bagels

Fat Bagels is a locally owned breakfast and lunch concept serving authentic New York-style kettle-boiled bagels, breakfast sandwiches, espresso, coffee, and drive-thru service.

We believe every guest interaction matters. Whether someone is grabbing coffee before work or visiting Flagstaff for the first time, our goal is simple:

Leave every guest happier than when they walked in.

That starts with exceptional leadership.

What You'll Do

As General Manager, you'll oversee every aspect of restaurant operations while building a culture centered around hospitality, accountability, and team development.

Lead Hospitality - This is your most important responsibility. You'll create an environment where hospitality becomes second nature—not because employees have to, but because they want to. You'll:

  • Coach genuine guest interactions every day
  • Lead by example on the floor
  • Build a team that connects with guests naturally
  • Celebrate great hospitality
  • Coach service opportunities in real time
  • Ensure every guest leaves feeling valued
Develop Great People - Great restaurants are built by great leaders. You'll:

  • Recruit and hire outstanding team members
  • Train, coach, and mentor managers and crew members
  • Build future leaders from within
  • Conduct meaningful performance reviews
  • Hold people accountable with respect
  • Create a positive, high-performing culture
Lead Daily Operations - You'll ensure the restaurant operates at a high level every day by:

  • Leading fast-paced breakfast and lunch service
  • Overseeing drive-thru and front counter operations
  • Managing labor and scheduling
  • Maintaining food quality and consistency
  • Keeping the restaurant inspection-ready
  • Resolving guest concerns professionally
  • Supporting your team wherever needed
This is a hands-on leadership role—you'll spend far more time on the floor than behind a desk.

Drive Results - You'll own the restaurant's performance by:

  • Managing labor and food cost goals
  • Reviewing financial performance
  • Controlling inventory and waste
  • Identifying sales opportunities
  • Growing repeat business through exceptional guest experiences
  • Building systems that create long-term success
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who naturally enjoys helping people succeed.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has previous restaurant management experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager
  • Leads with humility and positivity
  • Coaches rather than criticizes
  • Builds trust through consistency
  • Remains calm under pressure
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments
  • Loves being on the restaurant floor
  • Believes culture starts with leadership
  • Wants to build a long-term career with a growing local company
Why Fat Bagels?

We're not a corporate chain.

We're a locally owned restaurant group that believes people come first.

Our leaders aren't expected to hide in the office. They coach, mentor, develop, and inspire.

We believe happy employees create happy guests—and that's what has made our restaurants some of Flagstaff's favorites.

If you're looking for a leadership position where you can truly make an impact while enjoying a schedule that lets you have a life outside of work, we'd love to hear from you.
