Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Job Description
Where you'll be working:
Location(s): South Bay and Long Beach, CA
Setting: Center-Based, Community, Home-Based, Schools, and Telehealth
Population Served: Children and adults
Years in Operation: Founded in 2021
What You'll Actually Be Doing (aka no surprises later):
* Carry a manageable caseload across home, community, school, and center-based settings — with gradual onboarding so you're not thrown into the deep end
* Conduct assessments, develop individualized behavior support plans, and lead treatment using a play-based, NET-based, and trauma-informed approach
* Supervise and mentor RBTs, with the support of a clinical director who shows up in person when needed
* Collaborate closely with families, incorporating caregiver training and building self-advocacy goals into programming
* Contribute to a BCBA-owned practice where your clinical voice is heard — and where you can grow into a specialty director role if that's your path
Caseload & Support Transparency (because details matter):
Caseload size: 5–6 clients (gradual build-up — no case-dumping on day one)
Billable hour expectations: 24–25 hours per week
Support Structure:
* Clinical director provides in-person support, meets with BCBAs regularly, and steps in for complex family situations
* Senior BCBAs mentor first-year clinicians; specialization-based mentorship available (adults, aggression, early intervention, social skills, etc.)
* Small, communicative admin team handles scheduling and logistics — BCBAs are not left managing admin alone
* Supervision is not tied to billing pressure; flexibility is built into the model
Compensation & Perks (real ones):
Base salary: $85,000–$105,000; hourly rate also available ($50–$75/hr)
Bonus structure: Performance-based raises; early raise possible at 6 months based on performance; additional bonus available for BCBAs who choose to take on more hours/cases
PTO: 15+ days; discretionary time off model — BCBAs manage their own schedules
Health benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Presidents’ Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving day and Christmas Day
CEU support: Free CEUs through BIP Visualized platform; 1–2 conferences covered per year; additional CEU reimbursement available on request
Supervision/mentorship provided: Mentorship from senior BCBAs and exec director (5-year BCBA); clinical director available for case consultation and in-person support; no billing-tied supervision
Schedule flexibility / remote options: Hybrid model; up to 20% telehealth per case (BCBA and family decide together); up to 20% indirect work funded by payers
Additional perks:
* 401(k) and life insurance
* Laptop and phone (or phone reimbursement) provided
* Mileage and drive time reimbursement; all materials provided and reimbursed
* Team outings and 1–2 conferences per year
* Opportunity to create and grow into specialty director roles (e.g., Director of Adult Services, Director of Social Skills)
* Mental health support — flexible time off for personal wellbeing, including extended leave when needed
If it's listed here, it's real.
✨ Why This Is a Green-Flag Clinic
This organization meets our standards in:
BCBA-owned and operated — clinical decisions are made by people who have been in the field, not by corporate executives
Low caseloads with a gradual build-up model that protects clinicians from burnout from day one
Billable expectations that fall within a sustainable range
Generous PTO with a discretionary time-off model that gives BCBAs real autonomy over their schedules
Supervision that is never tied to billing pressure — flexibility is the norm, not the exception
We don't certify everyone, and we definitely don't promote clinics we wouldn't work at ourselves.
'05; You'd Be a Great Fit If You:
Are a credentialed BCBA
Care deeply about ethical, high-quality ABA
Want to work somewhere that is genuinely run by BCBAs who have been in the trenches — not a PE-backed company chasing numbers
Value a play-based, assent-based, trauma-informed approach to treatment
Want the option to grow into a leadership or specialty director role on your own timeline
Believe your clinical voice should actually shape the practice you work in
